This garden was a new build property in Camberley and was a slightly awkward shape.
Apart from a small patio it was a blank canvas. The brief was to create two separate areas, one for dining and one for socialising with relatively low maintenance but a good balance of hard and soft landscaping.
I decided to set the paved and decked areas within soft planting which would help disguise the difficult angles as well making the garden feel more intimate and private.
To help create the two clearly defined areas I designed seating constructed from rendered walls to enclose the space. The client eventually decided not to have these built but to have a second deck instead.
The client’s landscaper made several changes to the overall design including removing the proposed variation in levels which may have added another dynamic to the design but the client seems very happy with the garden.
